Day 10: A Photo of You Taken Over 10 Years Ago...

Second day in a row that I'm actually writing in here. Go me! I want to keep the momentum going.

I can never pick just one photo for any of these entries, but then again, no one said I had to! These two photos are from very different points in my life and I want to look upon those times today.

November 21st, 1985 - This is the day that really started the rest of my life. As we all know (or should know), I'm adopted and November 21st was the day that I flew on an airplane from Seoul, South Korea to JFK Airport in New York, to be officially given to my parents. (How many kids can say they had their first plane ride when they were less than 3 months old?) Today called for a photo of me taken over ten years ago, so here it is. This is when I got to officially meet my big brother, Mikey. He was very jealous of my arrival, after being the solo child of my parents for over 10 years (no one can blame him for that one!). My Mom loves to tell the story about how up until that moment, Mikey had been pouting and acting oppositional all day until he got his first glance of me in the stroller. I kicked my feet and smiled at him and my Mom said you could almost see his little heart melting. Him and I have been buddies ever since.

Spring 2000 - Unfortunately, I don't remember the exact day this was taken, but it's a great photo that has lasted through the test of time. The photo was taken right after we had gone on an 8th grade field trip to Medieval Times. It was one of those epic and amazing days that made you feel like you were going to burst from having such an amazing day. We were both 14 years old at the time. Phil & I became friends in December 1999 via our mutual friend Kenny. This was the time when 3-way calling and spending an obscene amount of hours on the telephone was popular, so I spoke to Phil on the phone before I actually met him. Since we were in Junior High together, we met face-to-face very quickly and became great friends. By the time this photo was taken, we were attached at the hip and talked every day. Now, over 11 years later, our friendship has had some trials & tribulations but I am proud to say we are still close friends to this day. Phil will always be a dear friend of mine, cause WE have stood the test of time and been through an unimaginable amount of laughter & tears together. He is someone that will always remain close to my heart and I know that he would say the same of me.
