DAY 19: A Talent of Yours...

tal-ent [tal-uh nt] n.
1. a special natural ability or aptitude: a talent for drawing.
2. a capacity for achievement or success; ability: young men of talent. Synonyms: capability, gift, genius
Today's topic gave me a run for my money. Late last night, I looked at the pre-determined topic that I would have to write about today and I almost cringed at the word talent. What am I going to write about? Why couldn't it be the next topic of hobbies? I've got lots of hobbies, I can certainly pick one, three, five to rant about! But a talent; what a taboo word for me. To me, talent always meant being exceptionally good at one singular thing such as sports, dancing, singing, acting, carpentry, cooking, etc. Sometime in high school, I had a epiphany of self-realization where I learned that I am more of a renaissance woman. I have never been exceptionally great at doing one singular thing. Instead, I've always dabbled here and there in various things and always did pretty well at whatever I tried my hand at. While I don't consider this to necessarily be a bad thing, I have always wished to possess exceptional talent that turned a hobby into something that was all my own and distinguished me from the rest of the crowd.

C.H.: Your ability to make people laugh!

E.A.: The way you can adapt to anything. A place, a person, a situation. Whatever is thrown at you, you just have a way of knowing exactly how to handle it. It's great for friendships to business decisions.

R.M.:
You have a keen attention to detail and are very observant. Things I appreciate.

C.F.: You're
organized, attention to detail, loving, caring, attentive to everyone and an incredible power to forgive and move on....you're able to bring a positive outlook to every situation...

For help with writing today's post, I turned to the almighty Facebook to ask my friends what they thought I was really talented at. I received some great responses and I noticed they all had one thing in common: they all had to do with my relationships with people in one way or another. Throughout the duration of the day, I tossed it around in my mind and thought of how the people in my life are what I spend my most time & effort on and is probably the thing that I pride myself the most on. I try to work really hard on my relationships with people and make sure they are as honestly harmonious as possible. Thank you so much to everyone that responded today. You brought a lot of sunshine to my day. So, you heard it here first...

I, Fawn Stephens, believe that my greatest talent or the one that I am most proud of is my relationships with the people in my life, cause I firmly believe that all that matters in life is to love and be loved.
